In this section, tissue samples from eyes, eyelids, and pupils referred from other medical or research centers are processed, stained, and evaluated microscopically and, if necessary, immunohistochemically.

In addition, cytological and immunocytochemical examination of intraocular fluids (vitreous and aqueous humor) is another highly specialized work that is done in this center. In the microbiology department, as a subset of the pathology department, samples taken from infectious eye lesions are subjected to various microbial staining and culture to identify the relevant microbial agent.

The services of pathology and microbiology department are provided in cooperation with eye pathology specialist and general pathologist.
